Mrs. Amy Pizzi - Director 716.998.4335
My name is Amy Pizzi and I am the director of Dance Images. I started dancing at the age of three and I am still dancing. After high school, I pursued my education at Genesee Community College. While I was there, I studied child development. I concluded my education there with an internship at B & J School of Dance, where I learned the business aspects of running a dance school.
After graduation, I wanted to further my education in dance therapy, so I enrolled at Fredonia State University. There I studied jazz, tap, modern ballet, dance improv, and African Caribbean. During this time, I auditioned and was chosen for a dance position with Orchesis Dance Company. Later my choreography was chosen and performed at the Major Concert and other events. I was also a member of Dance Productions, which helped me obtain my knowledge of running dance productions.
My interest in dance therapy was a fairly new field and allowed me to intern with Boces in several school districts, where I taught children with disabilities. I chose to utilize their strengths and teach them what those strengths were, instead of focusing on their weaknesses.
My goals for the future of Dance Images include expanding the number of students in the school, having our All-Star Dance Team become a major competitor in dance competitions, and educating children physically, mentally and emotionally in the art of dance. I want to share my love for dance with others in order to stimulate a childs imagination for their future.
